What does 博学会馆 mean?
博= broad; extensive, and profound. 学/學 = learning; study. 会/會 = to meet; meeting. 馆/舘 = A place, a building.
The phrase 会馆/會舘 can be translated to English as hall; business or profession guild hall; clubhouse; or pavilion.
Why are there two lines of characters for the Chinese name?
博学会馆
博學會館
The first line is simplified or standard Chinese characters.
The second line is traditional or heritage Chinese characters, which have been used for a long time in China.

What is on the "Media Library" page?
This is a login required page, provided to the Learning Pavilion enrolled students and subscribers. It contains several sections, and more will be added according to students’ need:

Chinese literature and poems. The documents are in Chinese characters, and the audio which goes with each document is created by Cecilia. The audio will have slow speed and standard speed versions for each document. It will have stop points between sentences so that students can pause and repeat after it. These stories and poems are collected from other channels.

Stories Cecilia wrote or translated. Cecilia creates these stories in Chinese characters and includes notes with culture or history info. Audio will be paired with the script.

Audios for listening practice. Cecilia also creates audio pieces in this section. The audio pieces vary, from easy to more complicated materials. They are selected from current news, articles, web info, or books. It similarly has slow speed and standard speed versions.

Humorous. This section includes cartoons, jokes, and small witty stories. We know humor is the most challenging part of a language to understand. So, let us see if we can laugh together.

Knowledge base. This section will have subjects such as what is the difference between simplified and traditional Chinese? How many characters are there in the Chinese language? What are “tones” and why are they essential? What is pinyin, and why is it an essential tool? And more…
